Palanite Enforcers face recruitment crisis

23/06/44,265 ·

The Palanite Enforcers, the law enforcement agency of the hive city, are facing a recruitment crisis that threatens their ability to maintain order and security in Drake Cluster.

According to sources within the Palanite Enforcers, the agency has suffered heavy losses in recent operations against various criminal gangs and factions in the Underhive, such as House Van Saar, the Corpse Grinder Cults, and the Genestealer Cults. These losses have not been adequately replaced by new recruits, resulting in a shortage of manpower and resources.

The sources blame the recruitment crisis on several factors, such as:

  • The low appeal and prestige of joining the Palanite Enforcers, compared to other career options in Necromunda. Many potential recruits prefer to join the Imperial Guard, the Astra Militarum, or even the gangs themselves, rather than serve as Helmawr’s muscle.
  • The high risk and danger of being a Palanite Enforcer, especially in the Underhive. Many recruits are deterred by the prospect of facing deadly enemies and harsh environments on a daily basis, with little reward or recognition.
  • The incompetence and cronyism within the ranks of the Palanite Enforcers. Many recruits are disillusioned by the poor leadership and management of the agency, which is rife with corruption, nepotism, and favoritism. Many recruits are also mistreated and abused by their superiors and peers, who see them as expendable and disposable.

The sources warn that if the recruitment crisis is not addressed soon, the Palanite Enforcers will be unable to fulfill their duties and obligations to Lord Helmawr and Drake Cluster. They fear that this will lead to more crime and violence in the Underhive, as well as more challenges and threats from rival powers and factions.

The Drake Chronicle has contacted the Palanite Enforcers for their response and comment, but has not received any reply as of yet. We will provide more updates and details as they become available. Stay tuned for more news from the Underhive.

  • Lena Frost was a former enforcer who worked for the Palanite Enforcers, the law enforcement agency of the hive city. She was betrayed by her corrupt superiors and left for dead in the Underhive. She survived and became an investigator who exposes the corruption and crimes of the hive nobility. She was cold and ruthless and would stop at nothing to get justice. She was respected and feared, but she also had many enemies and threats who wanted to stop her. She decided to create her own newspaper, The Drake Chronicle, along with acquaintance Zara Skye, to be the voice of the Underhive. She gathered a team of talented and passionate journalists who shared her vision and courage. She became the editor-in-chief of The Drake Chronicle and led it with determination and integrity. She hoped to make The Drake Chronicle the best newspaper in the Underhive, and to bring down more criminals and corruptors in the Underhive.
