Escape of Wanted High Born from The Drake Sector

Reports of gunfire and heavy fighting over in The Needle Way neighbourhood of The Drake Sector.

Skirmishes broke out between local Escher gang The Lost Daughters and local enforcer unit The Drake Watch in the late hours of last night. The Needle Way neighbourhood is a known smuggling route between The Drake Sector and The Dreadfort Sector to our north, via a maze of small tunnels through, under and over the sector boundary walls.

Reports suggest The Lost Daughters where attempting to, and eventually succeeded in escorting a wanted high ranking house member out of the sector. It is not known how the local Palantine Enforcer were tipped off to the plans, but despite setting up check points and blockades, where unsuccessful in thwarting the Escher plan.

Witnesses tell us of a huge barrage of rocket propelled photon grenades showering down from the local enforcers pre-set positions down on the approaching Escher sisters, flooding the area with flash, bangs and panic. Along with photon grenades, the enforcers were also reported to have deployed smoke grenades to further slow the Escher progression, a far cry from more recent destructive and indiscriminate tactics from the enforcers.

Although slowed, the panic caused didn’t seem to affect the Escher sisters themselves, who seemed well prepared for such an ambush. CCTV footage shows some of the younger girls quickly outflanking the patrolmen, while more senior members kept a strong and discipline central formation to concentrate the enforcers attention on.

Once flanked, the younger sisters caused panic amongst the enforcers by engulfing numbers of them in flames, causing a number to flee before eventually being taken out of action herself.

Although their plan was clearly to better their opponents by creating panic and confusion with their use of photon and smoke grenades, the better prepared Escher crew had quickly turned the tables on the Enforcers, who were now the ones in panic. The outflanking manoeuvres had allowed the central core group of sisters to slowly, but surely pick off their targets, reducing their numbers steadily as the fight went on.

Although the enforcers saw some reinforcements added to the fray, this came too late and in too few a number to change the outcome. Once their number reduced further, The Drakes Watch decide to flee, though leaving behind one of their senior sergeants to be taken hostage by The Lost Daughters.

With their path clear, it is assumed The Lost Daughters have successfully smuggled their high-born VIP out of the Drake Sector, and at the same time, taken receipt of a high value hostage.
