Holding up a hand Deckard found himself frustrated by how long it took the caravan driver to slow. I guess that’s whet you get when the guild took the lowest bidder for the caravan contract. Punching some glyphs on his silent vox The Delaque sharpshooter reported the increased civilian presence ahead and returned to surveying the crowd. Acting on a pre-arranged plan the flanking Nacht Ghuls melted into the crowd and scouted ahead of the convoy whilst the water guild representatives started to berate the caravan driver for slowing the convoy, shaking his head the man in the high spire moved to explain the perils of just plunging ahead regardless.
Civilians started to crowd in to the slowed caravan, it’s slow progress lending them confidence that they weren’t to get run down. The hulking form of the Subnautican brushed many away as they closed but the number of them meant some were making it through to the vehicles. It wasn’t the pressing crowd that bothered Deckard though, it was the flashes of bright hair visible one minute, gone the next he could see in the buildings ahead of them. All of a sudden small arms fire broke out and the crowd started to frenzy. Before they had even taken positions a rolling ball of plasma hurtled into the building that the man in the high spire had taken his vantage point in.
The delaque scattered with the Flanking forces racing forward, the Nacht Ghul attempting to locate the hidden shooters. Bursting from Cover Zohra stumbled under the sights of the Escher plasma gunner. While the shot missed by the narrowest margin, the explosion as the rockcrete exploded on the wall behind her floored the incautious delaque who promptly turned tail and scurried back for cover. As the firefight continued between the man in the high spire and the Escher Matriarch the Escher dashed forward to a better vantage point., right within reach of the claw wielding Nacht Ghul hidden below, seizing the opportunity Deus Irae scrambled up the building and engaged the Escher in the building one after the other in an orgy of violence, the blood of Wendy and Alanis on his claws, their injured forms lying silent behind him.

Back at the caravan Deckard tracked the Escher leader as she dashed across the clear space, just as he had his shot lined up though Jennings jumped forward to draw a bead on the emerging Escher on the flank. The long rifle bullet glanced the side of his skull and the ganger fell from the vehicle out cold.
All of a sudden a number of the frenzied citizens around the caravan cast their disguises aside and started to loot the vehicles, Zhora having scrambled her way back into the fight in the nick of time, lining up the looters she unleased the xenos energies of the neural flayer on them, and watched as the look of inner madness took hold of their faces. Plasma fire again poured into the centre of the skirmish around the caravan before Pellig leapt from concealment in a nearby building and running Davina though with his Blessed blade. Before he had a chance to reposition though the stinging whip of the Lost Girls leader tore across the side of face and his severed ear fell to the floor, rushing to the attack the Nacht Ghuls blades failed to land true, as if the Escher Matron was protected by some arcane force. With a wicked grin the veteran Escher lashed at Pellig again and the Nacht ghul slumped unconscious and bleeding at her feet.
The Subnautican, at his masters command, piled into the skirmish and knocked the looters down only to glance up as two stiletto sword pierced his chest, where had his attacker come from? Her speed was blinding and as the large mercenary slumped tohis knees she was off again. Running in to finish off the prone Escher the Subnautican had floored moments ago the delaque stopped to take stock, looking around they noticed the street had finally cleared and the Escher were no longer in sight.
The man in the high spire commed from his vantage point that they should get the fallen onto the caravan before getting the caravan moving again, there was no telling when the Escher would be back.
