Delaque vs Redemption: A Night of Cunning and Chaos in the Underhive

26/02/44,265 ·

Last night was a battle of cunning that saw both sides fall victim to underhand tactics.

The shadowy Delaque of the Adjustment Administratum were on the hunt for a local settlement to control, their spies finding one under the influence of the Redemption. In true Delaque fashion the water was polluted, a mild intoxicant that would affect the vision of any gangers foolish enough to protect the settlement.

However at the same time the redemption gang, Lux Imperatoris, were warned of the upcoming attack and bolstered the defenses of the settlement. The huge door to the settlement was shut and sealed, only an automata of great strength will be able to open it and they powered down the only one in the vicinity.

Prayers to the god emperor were incited and he first answered with an influx of extra juves and a couple of out of town scum. His second answer would make sure the Delaque’s weapons would not perform when needed.

The delaque had brought along an attaché of the water guild to aid them and their Nachtgul sneaked deep into area.

Tentative early movements culminated in the delaque’s poison doing its job, with missed shots from the sharp shooters of the redemption. The hive scum, having not been in the area to drink, managed to cause some early damage to the Subnautican with their lasgun. The nachtgul appeared from the shadows, charged and captured a brother of the redemption but slipped on the blood soaked floor and was left stranded in front a dangerous looking blunderpole. Without hesitation fire burst from the blunderpole and the nachtgul disappeared from the battle to find somewhere to cool down.

The Delaque hot wired the Ambot, but with the sheer numbers of crazed fanatics advancing they used it to fire its melta gun into the nearest enemy. The divine faith protecting the deacon from being hit as Jesus rushed up the stairs and sent a rat with a blasting charge strapped to its back towards a juve who remained unharmed from the explosion as the Spektor, a Delaque ganger and a Cawdor bone picker were sent flying. Rockets launched from cover toward the advancing left flank rendered Lebowski and some of his retinue blind, and prone and allowing the water build to advance towards the sealed door. The Delaque leader, knowing the aim of the redemption was affected advanced down the right flank, heavy stubber shots missing as expected. What he didn’t expect was his plasma gun missing a juve stood 10 foot away and then powering down leaving him with just a pistol for defence. Not enough when the bone picker advanced in with renewed bravery and set the leader on fire.

A juve with big ideas knew he would be look favourably upon if he could take out the rocket launcher charged down the middle, so focused on his mission he didn’t see the giant mechanical piscean spektor launch into a frenzied assault, almost instantly incapacitating the plucky juve.

With fighting causing little damage, the Ambot no closer to the sealed door and shots missing targets that caused disbelief in both camps the delaque shifted back into the shadows and the redemption tempered their flames. No victor in this battle this time
