Reports had come in of new and exotic beasts and weapons being brought into the Underhive, for sale to those with the cash to pay for them. Rumours of such things being “liberated” from noble families high in the spire during the chaos unfolding up there did nothing deter those with a taste for the exotic. Which included the Arachnateks, and their shadowy master, who had sent a fixer ahead to arrange his purchases – which the Arachnateks were tasked with claiming.
Unfortunately the Arachnateks weren’t the only ones interested in purchasing some exotica, the similarly minded Replicants also wanted in on the action. As the two gangs approached the esoteric black market a vicious fire fight erupted, neither side willing to back down and wait for the other to complete their business, concerned that anything of true value would be gone.
Lasfire erupted across the outskirts of the market, masked and cloaked patrons running for cover as one gang sought to force the other back. Boe sought to push forward on her grav-cutter only to be blown from it by melta fire from Deckard, the Replicants leader. However his actions exposed him to the Arachnateks allowing Douglas to blast him from his perch with a gout of plasma fire.
As the conflagration raged it threatened to spread into the market itself, until a figure emerged from the swirling smoke surrounding the battle, threading their way through the cross fire to approach the remaining Replicant champion. Whispers were exchanged, then money and the Replicants vanished back into the depths of the Underhive seeming now content to wait their turn.
The figure approached Ulric “Your Master commands you follow me, and note that money rings louder than bullets!”. Ulric was lead through the bizarre market to a large warehouse containing cages of creature they like of which he had never seen, in the underhive, the ash wastes or on picts of other worlds. He was lead to the back of warehouse and small cage covered in a red velvet cloth. “For you master, I deliver as promised” with a flourish the man flicked the cloth off the cage to reveal two sleeping cats.
