SHOCK & AWE SHATTERS THE COMPETITION!

28/01/44,265 ·

What a match, folks! The crowd was on the edge of their seats as Shock & Awe took on Roving Patrol in the opening fixture of Escape The Spire. I’m still reeling from the energy and excitement that poured out of that arena!

The task was simple: defend the loot or launch a raid to steal it. Easy peasy, right? Wrong! Roving Patrol thought they had this in the bag, but Shock & Awe had other plans.

If round was was all about organised procedure as Danvile got her troops into formation, round 2 was all about fireworks – and not just from the crowd’s pyrotechnic displays. Lexi Jolt and Tara Volt went head-to-head with Booth and Danville, trading shots like it was a shoot-em-up on a hoverbike. Ria Blaze joined the fray, taking out Becket with her trusty Lasgun.

But then things took a turn for the worse – and not in a good way. Chen launched a shotgun blast that sent Lexi Jolt crashing to the ground. Danville charged in, and it was like watching a slow-motion train wreck – Reagan Jr tried to intervene but got caught in the crossfire.

By Round 3, Roving Patrol’s hopes were already dashed. Booth succumbed to his injuries, and Danville made a break for it, leaving her teammates in the dust.

SHOCK & AWESOME STEAL THE SHOW!

Mia Flash and Sonic Shockwave took center stage in Round 4, trading Plasma Gun blasts with Harper (who was already showing signs of strain). Reagan Jr tried to make a comeback but ended up having to duck out of Tara Volt’s Lasgun fire.

In Round 5, it was all over. Chen went down with a Frag Grenade, and Roving Patrol fled in disarray. Shock & Awe emerged victorious, claiming the loot and solidifying their reputation as forces to be reckoned with.

But wait, there’s more! In a show of solidarity, Shock & Awe donated 70 credits from their winnings to cover Booth’s medical bills – talk about class. That’s what makes this tournament so special.

Harper and Lexi Jolt won’t be joining the fray again, sadly.

Shock & Awe are looking fierce and ready for whatever comes next.
POST-MATCH REACTIONS:

“We knew we had it in us,” said Sonic Shockwave. “We’re not just a team – we’re a family!”

“I couldn’t be prouder of my teammates,” added Mia Flash. “We worked together and gave it everything we had.”

‘Captain’ Danville didnt make herself available for comment.

THE DRAKE CHRONICLE’S TAKEAWAYS:

  • Shock & Awe’s victory was a masterclass in teamwork and strategy.
  • Roving Patrol underestimated their opponents – beware, gang!
  • Booth’s injuries will keep him out of the tournament for at least one round. Will he bounce back?

Stay tuned for more updates from Escape The Spire! I’ll be there with my mic and earplugs to bring you all the action.
