The Drake Sector of the Underhive is in a state of utter chaos tonight as three major gang skirmishes have erupted across the sector, leaving a trail of blood and destruction in their wake.
The first clash occurred at The Ashen Forge slag furnace, where the Utter Chaos and The 451 Ore Chasers gangs exchanged fire and explosives over the control of the valuable ore processing facility. According to eyewitnesses, the battle was fierce and brutal, with both sides suffering casualties. One junior member of the Utter Chaos gang was reported to have been killed in action, while several others were wounded. The 451 Ore Chasers eventually retreated, leaving the Utter Chaos gang to claim the furnace as their own.
“I saw them coming from both sides, shooting and throwing grenades. It was like a war zone. I ran for my life, but some of my friends weren’t so lucky. They got caught in the crossfire,” said a worker at the furnace who wished to remain anonymous.
The second skirmish took place at The Popov Lab, a synth still that produces illegal drugs and chemicals. Sources say that a meeting between members of the Vicious Vixens and The Shockwave gangs went sour, with both parties accusing each other of betrayal and double-crossing. The situation quickly escalated into a full-scale shootout, with both gangs calling for reinforcements. The Popov Lab was turned into a battleground, with bullets, lasers and toxins flying in all directions. Both gangs took heavy casualties before The Shockwave gang decided to withdraw from the area, leaving the Vicious Vixens to claim the lab for their own.
“It was supposed to be a simple deal, but they tried to rip us off. We had no choice but to defend ourselves. They brought more firepower than we expected, but we held our ground. We showed them who’s boss in this sector,” said a Vicious Vixen who refused to identify herself.
The third and final skirmish happened at The Stichters Den, a medical facility that offers various services to the underhive dwellers. Reports suggest that both the Aurun Vox and the Sand Hounds gangs were after the services of the facility, likely anticipating future conflicts in the sector. Both gangs clashed over the access to the den, using a variety of weapons and tactics to gain an advantage. The Aurun Vox gang used heavy photon use to disable the Sand Hounds’ initial volleys, while Krall, a notorious Aurun Vox leader, landed an early rocket to lock up the flanking Venators. The Sand Hounds then rushed forward and cornered the Aurun Vox gang in a narrow alleyway, hoping to overwhelm them with sheer numbers. However, the Aurun Vox gang fought back with ferocity and skill, using their superior melee weapons and cybernetics to fend off the attackers. The Sand Hounds eventually gave up and fled from the scene, leaving the Aurun Vox gang to secure the neighbourhood for themselves.
“We knew they were coming for us, so we prepared accordingly. We used our photon grenades to blind them and our rockets to blast them. They thought they had us trapped, but they were wrong. We sliced them up with our blades and claws. They ran like cowards,” said Krall, who sported several fresh scars from the fight.
The local Palantine Enforcers have issued a warning to all citizens of the Drake Sector to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel in the affected areas until further notice. They have also vowed to restore order and peace in the sector as soon as possible.
“We are aware of the situation and we are doing everything in our power to contain it. We urge all law-abiding citizens to cooperate with us and follow our instructions. We will not tolerate any criminal activity or violence in our sector. We will bring these gangs to justice,” said Captain Rolfus, the commander of the Palantine Enforcers in the Drake Sector.
