The enforcers of the Drake Sector have successfully defended the local fuel depot from a raid by the notorious gang Aurum Vox, who had planned to sabotage the promethean tanks and loot the precious resource.
The enforcers, who have been patrolling the area more frequently after receiving a tip-off about the gang’s intentions, were alerted to the attack when an enemy sniper fired a shot at one of the tanks, hoping to cause a massive explosion. The shot missed, but triggered the alarm and drew the attention of the enforcers, who responded with a hail of bolter fire.
A fierce firefight ensued, with both sides exchanging shots, flash grenades and insults. The situation escalated when a grenade launched by one of the bounty hunters hired by Aurum Vox hit a pipe in the fuel system, causing a dangerous leak that threatened to ignite the whole depot.
In response, patrolwoman Beckett of the enforcers unleashed a barrage of bolter shells that seriously wounded Nero, one of the Aurum Vox junior bounty hunters. Realising that they were outmatched and outnumbered, Aurum Vox decided to retreat and recover their fallen comrades.
The enforcers pursued them for a while, but decided to secure the depot and prevent any further damage. No civilians witnessed the skirmish, but some reported hearing the words “We are the law” after the gunfire and explosions ceased.
This unit of enforcers have not been revealed their to the public, but some sources suggest that they are part of a secretive and autonomous sub-unit of the Palatine Enforcers, who operate under their own rules and agenda.
One enforcer, who wished to remain anonymous, leaked some comments from their captain’s debriefing to this reporter. The captain praised the bravery and skill of his team, but also criticised some aspects of their performance.
“More time on the shooting range is needed,” he said. “That was sloppy. We need to have better fire control. And I thought someone said Booth was a good shot. He better not mess up again.”
He also expressed his displeasure at one of his subordinates who ran out of ammunition during the fight. “And someone is getting a demotion for leaving short of ammunition,” he said. “That was embarrassing. It better not happen again.”
The fuel depot is now under tight security and repairs are underway. The enforcers have vowed to continue their patrols and crackdown on any criminal activity in the sector. Aurum Vox, meanwhile, have not issued any statement or challenge, but are likely to seek revenge for their defeat.
This is Max Vox, signing off. Until next time, scummers. Stay strong, stay smart, stay free. Vox Populi.
