The Shockwaves successfully defended their territory in The Hive neighbourhood from a raid by the Sump Saints last night. The siege lasted for several hours and involved intense firefights and explosions that rocked The Drake Sector.
The Saints have had previous run ins with the Shockwaves, after not so long ago attempting to take The Drake, also under the control of the Escher crew. On that occasion, superior fire power and defensive discipline allowed the Shockwaves to deter the Saints, keeping them, for the most part, at arm’s length and sent them packing with large losses. But recent successes for the Sump Saints clearly boosted their moral and gave them the confidence to try and take on the Shockwaves again, this time in the heavily populated Hive neighbourhood.
The Saints launched their bold assault on The Hive from its southern frontier, an open stretch, littered with disused and crumbling old factories and storage yards. This gave them good, but few cover opportunities to launch their assault from. Once the Cawdor followings presence was discovered, the Shockwaves established a defensive line at two bunkers and a control tower.

Reports tell of slow but steady progress being made by the Sump Saints from many positions. Having split up their followers to distract and split the defensive Escher firepower. The Escher gang had the range to open first, slowing the Cawdor advance before they could open fire themselves. All except for one Cawdor sniper that is, who seemed to have set themselves up just outside of Escher’s range.
CCTV confirm several quick kills by the Shockwaves of some followers of Prestwold, though I’m not convinced they would be missed and likely were intended to be cover for the Sump Saints more valued gangers.
Eyewitnesses say they saw the first Sump Saint members reach the Escher girls much sooner than expected, and once within range, opened the taps on their flamers the engulf the Shockwaves in fire. Scorching girls and building alike, the Shockwaves needed to regroup, one eyewitness claims to have seen a young Juve speed across the back of their lookout at unbelievable speed, one minute launching photon grenades at one group of Cawdor, then next she was 100’s of meters away, supporting her, now ablaze sisters. “She was like a bloody rocket, she was. Zooming all over the place, faster than anyone I ever seen. Dunno what she had in her veins, but it sure wasn’t normal” commented one eyewitness we spoke to.

It was soon clear to all why the young Juve had been called over, she brough not only her human defying speed, but also a hand flamer to literally, fight fire with fire.
It’s been difficult to piece together all of what followed, with the large number of flamers setting everything man, woman or machine a blaze caused issues with the Hives CCTV system, but in the aftermath, we learnt that one of the elder Escher sisters, Rumble Shockwave, along with another of her sisters had been downed and needed medical attention.
It wasn’t long before Prestwold himself became the target of Plasma fire, and if it wasn’t for the heroics his loyal pet, would have surely met his end.

The sisters ranged fire continued to rain down on the exposed Saints, taking one out after other, though as the flamers began to get closer, some of the sisters began to retreat to a safer distance, only to begin once again their constant barrage of Plasma and Lasgun fire.
With their numbers severely reduced, and their leader shaken, the Sump Saints started to retreat, fleeing under the cover provided by their sniper back into the industrial sector and the night.
So once again the Shockwaves have proven themselves capable foes. Although many may consider their Escher rivals the Vicious Vixens to be the premier Escher gang of The Drake Sector, only a fool would dismiss the effectiveness of the Shockwaves, especially when it comes to defending their own turf.
