Escher vs Orlock: A Night of Loot and Blood in the Underhive

23/10/44,265 ·

Last night, two rival gangs, the Lost Daughters and Ramsey’s Revenge, clashed over some valuable loot that was scattered in the Underhive after a Ridgehauler accident. The fight was witnessed by me, Milo Vox, host of The Vox Voice on Vox Radio, and The Drake Chronicle contributor.

Wow, what a crazy night in the hive we all just had. We’ve had reports from all over the place of gangs rushing neighbourhoods accross the Drake Sector for loot and goodies littered from yet another Ridgehauler accident.

We’ve heard of a number of pockets of violence already, and just now I hear of the sectors leading Palantine Enforcer talking about getting in on the action aswell.

Just out of my bedroom window last night, as I was trying to get some well earned shut eye before my morning radio show, The Vox Voice, tune in every morning at 5, I witnessed some young ladies wrestling with some beefy mean looking fellas.

On closer inspection it appeared to be the local Escher girls, The Lost Daughters. Lost indeed, but on this occasion it was loot they where after finding, rather than themselves.

Unfortunetly for them, Ramsey’s old Orlock crew must have had the same tip off, and was quick on the scene to spoil there scavanger hunt, and my much needed beauty sleep.

The events unfolded without much gun fire, not what we have all come to expect from these sorts of encounters, but instead, lots of shouting and moving around, as if each gang was trying to outflank or maneuever themselves to get the better positions.

They didnt seem to interested initially in taking each other out. I dont know what loot they were after, but its value was clearly greater than the urge to take out a rival gang member. As the Escher girls started to get in position, suddenly I heard the opening of gun fire, a Lasgun, quickly followed by a Plasma shot, but not exchanged between Escher and Orlock, instead by two of the Escher girls posted high in a lookout. They had opened fire on each other, with what looks like a younger one being left to bleed out on the dirty, rusty floor of an abandoned shack.

As the gangs started to secure the various loot caches, more gun fire began to rain down. Although faster to much of the loot, the girls quickly started to drop to the strong Orlock firepower. I saw at least two of the younger girls being dragged out of harms way by their sisters after taking serious Plasma fire. One of whom, along with her pet kittens, don’t look like they’ll make it without some serious medical attention.

Once both gangs appeared to have secured what they came for, things quickly fizzled out, and let this Radio presenter get some well needed rest. But before that however, your fearless reporter did manage to speak to one of the gangers before they had all fled, she didnt provide a name, but was one of the two girl’s I saw gunning down each other ealier. When asked what happened there to cause her to gun down her own sister, she replied with the below, followed by a stern and forceful shunt, pushing me away:

‘My own Siater, no, not quite.

I don’t know who that was, but she was no siater of mine’

Unknown ganger of The Lost Daughters

  • Milo Vox was a former singer who had a successful career in the hive city’s music industry. He was addicted to drugs and alcohol and lost his fame and fortune. He moved to the Underhive where he started his own radio station called “Vox Radio”. He was a charismatic and energetic radio host who broadcasts the latest news and rumors from the Underhive, often adding his own personal commentary. He loved his job and had a huge fan base, but he also had a lot of problems and debts that haunted him. He heard about The Drake Chronicle, a new and ambitious newspaper that aimed to be the voice of the Underhive. He was attracted by their offer and salary and decided to join them as a senior reporter. He left his radio station with regret and sadness, but he was also relieved and hopeful about his new situation. He hoped to bring his personality and charisma to The Drake Chronicle, and to make it the most entertaining and popular newspaper in the Underhive.
