Drake Suppression Team Protects the Sector

As the newly formed Drake suppression team (DST) arrived in the hab level via the still functional elevator they were met by screaming hivers that were panicking and shouting something about mass kidnapping.

As they moved in, the DST saw a door open followed by a hail of gun fire, while hivers dove for cover the Enforcers started taking g hits and went to ground to not knowing who was shooting just that they were accurate.

Seeing a side door there was a move to get it open so patrolwoman Chen could break through and flank with her trusty shotgun but having planned out their response well the Van Sar of Arachnateks Arisen were ready out numbering the poorly informed enforcers almost 2 to 1.

Chen took her chance while the rest of the small recon team tried to return fire, but we’re constantly pinned and left unable to do anything to help the hivers, sergeant Booth remembering why they were there to help the people and gain a better presence in the block rallied his team while hoping for reinforcement.

Chen while trying to flank found a group of Van Sar harassing some hivers and took aim only to miss making herself a target and being shot in return leaving her a mess alive but injured, booth then moved up to aid Chen but just saw more gun fire as a relentless hail continued from both sides of his door frame eventually going down to injury himself as his opposite number the subjugator sergeant Voight came in firing off his favourite weapon in the armoury his compact grenade launcher giving the enforcers a much needed boost to morale.

As time moved on reports of a hiver being dragged from the scene by the Arachnateks gave the Enforcers more drive to save as many as possible as the team leader Captain Danville arrived delayed by misdirection took charge and began to assert dominance and getting the hivers to cover while taking fire herself and shrugging it off with her large shield.

Tides we’re turning and reinforcements arrived on both sides but with no more reports of prisoners being taken the Enforcers slowly moved 2 hivers towards the lift all the time taking more casualties to pinpoint fire that while unable to miss could now land a fatal impact.

As the evening dragged on it became clear that the hivers were made of sterner stuff than both sides realised and a groups of determination hivers held off the Van Sar by their local watering hole and the remains of a second group devastated by gun fire as they were mowed down to stop the Enforcers getting people away but as the gun fire faded there were brave patrolmen still able to get a small group of hivers clear (2) even with the determination to hold on the Enforcers of the DST started the break and run while the Arachnateks while not gaining enough prisoners to call it a win still took control of the hab levels that the DST were responsible for only time will tell but there must be scores to settle on both sides.

Rumours after the engagement say 4 members of the DST as injured but reposts list only 1 with medical problems.
