Unrest spilled into the smelting works last night as the Prestwold, the notorious leader of the Sump Saints began to intimidate the factory workers. One worker managed to escape and call for an enforcer patrol as the Saints were looking to make off with 3 loads of metal.
Our eye witness was sure he heard them mention repairs to a machine they had found. Gun shots rung out from the Enforcers sniper, with returning fire from the Saints. Unfortunately, despite the Enforcers surprise appearance it was Murphy who suffered the first casualty. Precinct reports that although it was a clear shot to the head, the patrolman’s helmet took the force well and he woke late with nothing more than a bad headache.
Further heavy fire, grenades and projectile explosives were heard throughout the works but the tight confines appears to have left them ineffective. After the initial firefight reports inform us that the Enforcers had not come as prepared as the factory workers would have liked, multiple weapon jams and a lack of ammunition left them having to close in on the Saints and deal them up close and personal.
Officer Reagan showed his mettle when he was charged by a crazed figure wielding a chain axe, our eye witness recalling the crazed look in his eyes. Reagan’s calm and effective use of his shield knocked the Redemptionist flat on his back before he got to swing his axe. He took cover from shots fired close by and Horton, the Saint’s sniper saw his opportunity from his high ground.
Granville, still reeling from the heavy blow stumbled into the path of Hortons shot taking him out of action. Regan had secured one of the crates of metal the Saints were keen to steal. High up, Gower the juve tried to secure a crate to prevent the Enforcers from taking it. Arncott spotted this clever idea and climbed a ladder to assist, as he reached the summit of the ladder he heard ‘I AM THE LAW’ just before a shield wielded by Captain Rizzoli rammed into him. The shield breaking bones and sending Arncott flying off the platform, landing close to Mellitus, the rogue doc who managed to patch him up.
Turning to Gower, Rizzoli enacted the same violent assault leaving him bloodied at her feet. Metal secured, Rizzoli looked to Horton, the fear of being charged clear in his eyes when a bright light covered Gower, miraculously knitting his bones back together. He stood and smiled at Rizzoli, raising his flail to attack. Rizzoli rolled her eyes and cracked him over the head with her shock baton, a short lived miracle but enough for Horton to disappear.
With 2 crates secured and the third defended heavily by the Saints, the Enforcer sniper, Sgt. Booth revealed his position, Radnage climbed the ladder to his position and set fire to him. In his panic to put the flames out he fell from the platform, the fire already causing lasting damage to his hand.
With that Rizzoli realised that depriving the Saints of two of the caskets was enough and called the remaining three Enforcers to retreat back to their precinct. The smelting works are in the hands of the Redemption, but what is this mysterious machine they need to repair?
