Cawdor loot chase ends in death, chaos and dissapointment

The Drake Sector of the underhive is no stranger to violence and conflict, but a recent clash between two rival gangs has left a trail of bodies and a mystery that remains unsolved. The gangs involved were the Lux Imperatoris, a fanatical sect of House Cawdor, and the Adjustment Administratum, a secretive cabal of House Delaque. Both were after the same prize: a cache of ancient relics hidden in an old Orlock hideout.

According to my sources in the Underhive Hackers Collective, the Lux Imperatoris had been searching for their stolen relics for months, ever since they were raided by an unknown enemy. They received a tip from an anonymous caller, intercepted by the UHC, but from an source unknown even to them, who claimed to know the location of the loot.

The Lux Imperatoris, eager to reclaim their holy artefacts, gathered their forces and headed to the coordinates given by the caller. They arrived at a derelict building, marked by the symbol of the Iron Assemblage, a notorious Orlock gang that had vanished from the sector some time ago. The Lux Imperatoris assumed that the Iron Assemblage had been the ones who had taken their relics, and prepared to storm the place.

However, they were not the only ones who had followed the tip. The Adjustment Administratum, had also intercepted the call also had eyes on the treasures, and had also arrived at the scene, hoping to find not only the relics, but also a wealth of weapons and credits left behind by the Orlocks. The Delaque gang, known for their stealth and subterfuge, infiltrated the building without alerting the Cawdor.

The first sign of trouble came when one of the Delaque gangers opened a crate, only to trigger a hidden frag grenade. The blast killed the ganger and alerted the Lux Imperatoris, who realised they were not alone. A tense standoff ensued, as both gangs cautiously searched the building, opening crates and finding more traps, but no sign of the relics.

The situation escalated when the Cawdor gangers, confident in their numbers and faith, decided to charge the Delaque positions. They were met with a hail of gunfire, as the Delaque unleashed their pistols and special weapons. The Cawdor gangers, armed with makeshift weapons and crude armour, suffered heavy casualties, but continued to press on.

The tide of the battle turned when the Nacht-ghul, a fearsome assassin and saboteur, emerged from the shadows. Wielding a pair of serpent’s fangs, razor-sharp blades that can pierce any armour, the Nacht-ghul cut through the Cawdor ranks, killing gangers and leaders alike. The Cawdor gangers, terrified by the sight of the masked killer, tried to fight back, setting the Nacht-ghul on fire with their flamers and molotovs. The Nacht-ghul, however, seemed unfazed by the flames, and continued his rampage.

The Lux Imperatoris, realising they were outmatched and outnumbered, decided to retreat. They fled the building, leaving behind their dead and wounded. The Adjustment Administratum, having won the battle, searched the building for the relics, but found nothing. The relics, it seemed, had never been there in the first place. The anonymous caller had lied to both gangs, for reasons unknown.

The aftermath of the battle left many questions unanswered. Who was the caller, and what was their motive? Where are the relics, and who has them? And who is the Nacht-ghul, and what is his connection to the Delaque?

These are the questions that haunt the Drake Sector, as the gangs continue to fight for survival and supremacy in the underhive. This is Nyxia Shade, reporting for The Drake Chronicle, signing off.

She is the prominent member of the Underhive Hackers Collective (UHC), a group of hackers who leak classified information from the hive authorities and corporations. Although she enjoys her anonymity and secrecy, she also wanted to reach a wider audience and expose more secrets. She heard about The Drake Chronicle, a new and independent newspaper that aimed to be the voice of the Underhive. She was intrigued by their mission and vision and decided to join them as a junior reporter. She kept her identity hidden from her new colleagues, but she was also fascinated and impressed by them. She hoped to use The Drake Chronicle as a platform for her hacking activities, and to reveal more truths to the Underhive.
